All About Our Beer:

First off, making beer is easy and fun. We want you to be creative and really enjoy the brewing process as well as the actual beer. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask a member of the staff or a neighbour. We're a friendly bunch and we'd all be happy to help!

The first thing to know about brewing your own beer is...what do you like? If you know what you're looking for from a beer then, we can help you get there. Here are a few examples of Brewers Heaven recipes that compare to commercial beers that you might want to use as a reference when you come in to brew (we have other recipe's such as Australian Lagers, Brown Ales, British Bitters, Pilsners and strong Swiss Lagers etc.):

Brewers Heaven Beer Styles
Our Recipe Compares to... Comments / Notes
Cerveza Corona or Sol A light beer with a dry finish. A perfect beer for enjoying in the Summertime.
Stumpy's Canadian, Ex, Blue, you get the idea. A popular beer that everyone can enjoy!
Dutch Lager Heineken, Becks etc... "Hoppier" and a little more body that makes for a more full flavour beer.
Red Rock Rickards Red or Old Micks etc. A nice rich red colour that makes for a very tasty draft beer.

For prices of these beers (they're all the same - within each price range), please refer to our pricing page for more information.

A Brief Tutorial on Brewing Beer:

Here are a few tips to make it a bit easier to get started brewing at Brewers Heaven:
1). Come with an idea of what you like and a few brand examples.
2). Call in advance so we can set aside a kettle for you.
3). If you are a first time brewer, let us know! We love to teach and will make time to do so.
4). Keep track of the beers you've tried at Brewers Heaven and the hops in them. When you find a hop you like the taste of, it's quite easy to find heavier or lighter bodied beers etc…that may better suit your taste.
5). Don't be afraid to try something new or stick with something you have tried before.
6). Most important - remember to have fun.
7). Come back in 2 weeks time to bottle your brew. That's all there is to it!

* Feel free to experiment with your recipe (we'll even help you). All we ask is that you let us know what you altered so we can filter it appropriately.
